I have a Titan (actually it's my GF's) and it seems to push air at you (I don't know what you call that behavior) when you breath from it. She was complaining about it before, but I noticed it myself today.

Can I make an adjustment to it or do I need to send it in for servicing. It was fully serviced about 12 dives ago.

Thanks in advance!

You might want to borrow someone else's known-good regulator, so you have something to compare it to.

It can't actually inflate your lungs, since the exhaust valve on the reg will vent whenever the pressure inside the reg exceeds the ambient water pressure. You may just be noticing the airflow directed into your mouth.

If you have slight free flow from either second stage, even though you are not inhaling, you most likely will need to have it serviced for IP adjustment or a new HP seat. Hook it up to a full tank on the surface, and see if you hear air coming out either of the second stages. Also if bubbles are coming out of the exhaust valve while you are in between breaths while diving.

Sometimes the shop will fine tune the 1st stage IP during servicing to the point that problems can occur shortly after servicing. I have had this problem several times with my SP regs, after only 10-15 dives post service. Quite annoying. I now ask that IP be set a bit lower than factory specs and only use adjustable 2nd stages so I can compensate if IP creep occurs. It sucks to have a regulator pushing air at you...

The issue you are noticing can be adjusted out. If you set the pre-dive lever to Negative (-) it should ease the issue until you can take it back in for adjustment.

I am just guessing here based upon my personal experiences but I bet the tech set your IP at or near 140 during the overhaul and adjusted the second stage sloppy. As your inhalation compresses the diaphragm it opens the control lever allowing a sudden rush of air flow.

By chance if you shake the second stage with out it being pressurized do you hear the control lever rattling?

Take it back in and ask the tech to lower the IP a touch and lighten the second stage. I will give a much smoother transition and easy breathing.

One thing you may want to keep in mind is regs are supposed to free flow in dive mode when you inhale and they should stop once there is the smallest bit of back pressure (hence how the difference between + / - is onlt a small piece of plastic restricting direct flow. If they are not openly freeflowing when you turn the tank on it is most likely adjusted properly many people do not know how the second stage is supposed to work and assume your supposed to suck the air out as i see a lot of rental regs dialed all the way down.
