keyshunter:The Titan octo is the same as the regular (not LX) Titan second stage. It is a very good breathing octo. It is a better breather than any low profile octo I have tried--and I have tried most. That said, the average recreational diver will never in his diving lifetime have to share air at depth. Hence the popularity of low profile and inflator octos among recreational divers who are not in caves or wrecks.
mike_s:I wouldn't call the ABS a piece of junk. It's a good 2nd stage. But there are much worse choices out there that I would call a piece of junk before that.
Scuba Cowboy:The average recreational diver may not ever have to share air at depth, but he should be prepared for it. You never know what is going to happen on any given dive and it is just good common sense to be prepared for the worst. I would personally never dive with an inferior alternate air source, I might need it myself. I use an octo that is just as good as my primary and teach people to do likewise. Would you want to breathe off a piece of junk in an emergency?
