Wow. That just might make it worth while then. I'll get the floor model and be done with it.

That is what I would recommend. The annual parts run 50-60 dollars. Big savings over time.

So when I have it inspected every year- do they actually TEST, REPLACE and SERVICE it? Or just look it over and only fix/replace parts if there's a problem?

Annual service for a reg is to completely tear it apart, clean it, and then replace factory recomended parts with their service kits (usually o-rings and valve seats). They also replace anything that needs it (such as a hose) or other parts that are not covered under warranty. Then they return it to factory specs.

Usually they don't do that much, this parts and lifetime warranty thing is way over rated. Regulators really do not need annual service to begin with, that is another "ism" that has just become a scuba law-ism without any proof or science backing it up. As well, every lifetime warranty I ever had on anything somehow didn't equal my lifetime so I tend to take that with a grain of salt. The Titan LX is a widely produced regulator of simple design and easy to get parts for. I have move I think at least 8 times in my adult life. One dive store don't know diddly where I got my stuff from from another.

I think the warranty and free parts is a good thing if you have a place to trust to exercise that option, since I don't trust anyone with my stuff and their old rusty pliers I do my own service and I prefer to shop PRICE only.

Besides, my LP sourced reg and the one I got on eBay had US warranty cards in the box which I threw away or lost or stuck in the round-tu-it box.

AZ,
You did not mention price. Keep in mind that your LDS's Titan LX is both a floor sample and a discontinued model. It should be heavily discounted from MSRP. Leisurepro has recently increased the price of the Titan LX to $225, up from a low of $175 (where I bought my third LX). This price increase tells me that their inventory is beginning to run low.

Well, originally it was $219. But that was when they had more left (or so they thought). They did not offer to discount the floor model (yet)

$219 is a good price, especially since the AL free parts deal (whether you choose to use it or not) is included. Depending upon when and at what level they bought the reg, their cost was probably about $200. So guide yourself accordingly.

I thought it was decent considering it was $5 cheaper than I could find anywhere online. However- it's throwing me that it's a floor model, AND, there's a new model coming out now. But even then- the new ones are $70 more for look and features that really don't matter much. Maybe I'll go ahead and take it, and ask them to service it once before I take possession- just to make sure it's all good...

That is a good price, the 219, if that includes their good will and service.

The dirt low LP prices reflected, I am sure, their clearing out the now obsolete graphics and original first stage model.
