So me and my fiancee are looking to go on a 2 week honeymoon somewhere tropical with lots of diving but the problem is there's too many choices so we're trying to narrow it down. Because we want to go 2 weeks, as opposed to 1 week, we do have a cost constraint since we'd like to keep it to 2-3 grand per person. I think that rules out most of "best" locations such as Fiji, Indonesia, etc.

The list of places we were looking at so far is Belize, Cayman islands, Bora Bora and BVI.

As far as what we're looking for in a honeymoon, we want nice and quiet...not thousands of kids running around screaming at the top of their lungs. I'm guessing this is going to mean that we will probably want a dive resort as opposed to a hotel that also has diving. It'd be nice to do stuff outside diving as well but I'm not sure how reasonable that'll be if we do indeed go to a dive resort. Let's see, what else...we already did Roatan recently, went to CoCo View and loved it, but one thing it did point out is that it'd be great if the place we went to didn't have buffet food the entire time so we had a choice of what to eat each night.

As far as diving goes, my fiancee does take photos and video (mostly video), we like boat diving over shore diving because sand blows, we love large critters such as sharks, rays, turtles, etc. and we've both been diving awhile so we're not limited by a site being too advanced or anything like that. My fiancee isn't too big on night diving or wreck diving but I love night diving and wreck diving is ok.

Lastly, as far as accomodations goes, like I said we want nice and quiet so secluded would be great and preferably not like a hundred people around. CCV was great for that since there was like a max of 50 people the resort would hold. We'd love to have over-the-water accomodations, cabana worked great in Roatan so we'd be down with that and as far as amenities go we're not too picky as long as there's a shower stall w/soap, a toilet w/running water and a bed to sleep in. Well, and air conditioning is kind of nice too. :P we could care less if the room has a TV, DVD player, etc. but who knows, if we're there for 2 weeks that might come in handy too when we're relaxing.

So anyway, let me know what you guys would recommend...I can provide additional info if ya need it to help narrow down the choices. I really liked the looks of International le Moana in Bora Bora but it doesn't even look like that hotel caters to divers at all despite it being listed in Sport Diver (go figure). Belize also looked really nice and it'd be awesome to dive the Blue Hole, but yeah any input will be appreciated!

Take a look at Jade Mountain or Anse Chastanet in St. Lucia as well. . .

you might want to think about Fiji again....right now there are some great airfares there...my brother just booked a weeks stay around $1700.00 AI with diving....I know you said you want to go for two weeks and your budget is around two grand per person but this is a good deal for Fiji especially since you would be diving in the Bligh waters

Trip-N-Tour: The Dive / Travel Experts of the Pacific

but I also second Anse Chastanet as a nice destination too

It's a romantic spa AI resort (one spa treatment per day is included in the price). My husband and I got certified there on our honeymoon and we loved it! We were very impressed with the diving, but we were the ultimate newbies, so not sure how it would seem to more advanced divers. But I remember seeing stone fish, tiny squid, crabs, seahorses, barracuda, octopus and of course, lots of colorful little fish. We did mostly shore diving (which is included as well), but also did one boat dive while we were there, so I know they can be arranged. Food-wise, I seem to recall it being buffet-style for breakfast and lunch, sit-down menu style for dinner. Not sure if it fits your price point or not, but I remember it being surprisingly affordable when we went, possibly because we were there in July (off season for them). I haven't been on here long enough to post a URL, but the web site is thebodyholiday.the usual suffix

Our daughter & SIL got married @ Sandals on St Lucia a couple years ago....they 'loved it'

since you have recently been to CCV and loved it, you are going to have a hard time finding another place that meets up to that standard. ;)

In order to get a small resort away from it all, you are most likely looking at an all-inclusive and most likely buffet style meals.

Here is where I would go:
Caradonna Dive Adventures - Dive Travel and Vacations - www.caradonna.com
I would do the 10-day 2 different resorts package with Lembeh Resort (2 days traveling each way so that would make your 2 week trip). That would get you 5 days of deep reef diving on one side of island, the 5 days of muck diving over at Lembeh. I have friends who have done this trip and said it is the best diving they have done anywhere and the best resort (and they have been everywhere in the world you can dive, almost). It isn't a cheap trip, but I think the price works out to around $3k per person with airfare included.

second choice would be here: Philippines Puerto Galera Resort or Beqa Lagoon Resort in Fiji.

my first choice for the Caribbean, if you don't want to go back to CCV, would be to look at Little Cayman Resort and/or Brac Reef Resort (maybe a week at each island). We have friends who rave about LCR and another friend recently went to Brac Reef Resort and came back raving about the food there (he spends alot of $$$$ on 5star hotels and food in his business life). He said it was the best food he has gotten anywhere on a dive trip. They had a couple of hurricane hits in the past few years but I have read here on SB that the damage underwater was minimal.

If the two of you are experienced divers look at Saba....

Small - quiet - beautiful - most diving is more advanced

I'll have to second Fiji, in addition to sales, the exchange rate has been very favorable lately. I was in Fiji for our honeymoon for two weeks in July, for just a little more than you mention per person (we booked before the airfares went on sale). We went to a remote eco-resort (Matava - Fijis Premier Eco Adventure Resort) and spend some time at a more traditional resort. The two of us preferred the eco-resort for it's low-key atmosphere and better diving. PM me if you want any more info.

Go Bora Bora paradise under and above water, went to my honey moon there, best trip ever

Grand Cayman might fit your budget if you find a air/hotel pkg deal yet it could be very busy depending on the time of year you visit.
The Brac Reef Resort is opening in Jan. to a newly re-done place after the hurricane destroyed it two years ago, for budget this would be your best bet for get away, quiet, boat-diving, but not a lot of other selections to eat from on the Island.
Little Cayman Beach resort or other Little Cayman properties (Pirates Point, Southern Cross Club) would be perfect except for the budget constraint as well as no choices of other eateries.

How about Turks and Caicos, it has one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen (Grace Bay) and dive with Caicos Adventures. Two quality dives a day and plenty of places to try for dinner, not so busy but I'm not sure about the cost from Cal.

Bonaire might fit well as there are many places to eat and you can boat or shore dive.

I saw that the Paul Gaugin cruise was on sale recently and I'm sure the food would be acceptable as well as the diving.

Have you thought about Hawaii?
