We're on the Palau Aggressor 2 in January.
Any tips from people who have been on this boat?
TIA.
since your profile is blank, I can't really tell you anything but the basics as I don't know what or where you have done before.
If this is your first liveaboard - take only a few shorts and t-shirts, only the shoes you travel wearing, and several swimsuits as far as clothes. You will spend all your time in a swimsuit with shorts on during meals, most likely. You will always be barefoot on the boat. Take sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and a camera for topside photos. Take all meds you might need for the week including any seasick meds if you need them. You probably won't need anything as the boat will be moored in a protected area andyou will be diving from the skiff with short boat rides back and forth. Take spare parts like a spare mask, mask strap, fin straps, etc. as you never know what might break during the week. The boat will have a "save a dive" kit but they might not have the exact piece you need so it is better to have some with you. Make sure you let them know well in advance if you need rental anything....
Other than that - Palau is absolutely amazing. You will be diving 4-5 times per day, eating meals or snacks in between each dive. Relax and enjoy! Nitrox is really recommended for safety with so many dives, so if you aren't certified yet, do the class onboard.
On land, back in Koror, go to the jail with lots of cash and buy a storyboard. The prices are negotiable but they only take cash. That is THE souvenir of Palau. You will learn all about them when you get there, just ask about storyboards. I have photos on my website, too. We ate dinner at the Taj as we heard it was great Indian food (my favorite). It was excellent! Our boat group of 15 people from around the world all met there for dinner and took 3 tables out on the patio which was really nice. We ordered about 1 of everything and just passed the bowls all around then split the bill.
that's all I can think of right now. Check out my trip report (I was on the Eco Explorer, not the Aggressor, but much will be the same including all the dives).
