Ok it seems that now is the time to be finding tropicals in this area. Any tips on catching them underwater?

Doc Intrepid:
get a slurp gun.

Slurp guns are GREAT!! I sell a bunch of them. However, you need to make sure that you use the right size and use it properly. Trying to suck up a 2" thick fish with a 1 1/2" opening will damage the fish. And going after the little 1/4" thick guys with a 3 1/2" opening can be frustrating at best.

Whatever size you use, make sure that as soon as you pull that rod, you put your other hand over the mouth to prevent escape.

Good hunting!

Well to make up for our rough dive yesterday we may be heading out to fort Wetherill this weekend for some shallow diving to video the tropicals. They are on a one way trip so why not provide them with a home for as long as you can.

We were at Ft. W this past Saturday....unfortunately didn't see any tropicals. Water was a balmy 64-66F. Vis was also crappy, which may be why we didn't see any ;-)

When were you there? I was there in the morning, also. We dived the left cove down to about 80ft and didn't see any tropicals, either. Vis was 8 ft or less, as usual.

AM -- arrived around 7AM. We did the left cove dove for dive 1 and the right (out well beyond the Scuba Shack BOW hordes; we hugged the left side) for dive 2.

Actually -- were you driving a Subaru & your buddy an Audi? I noticed 2 guys in doubles who had just come out of the water as I was driving out.....
