My first bottom timer was and still is my Timex Ironman watch. It is about 10 years old, all the numbers and lettering on it are rubbed off from wear, it has had 2 battery replacements, has been past 200 feet in depth, and cost about $45.00 Canadian.

I use the stop watch to time the dive, starting it just before I go under, and stopping it when I surface. If money is tight, this will do just fine, and will not break the bank if it gets damaged or lost. Just make sure you replace the velcro strap yearly, as they tend to get worn and may let go.

After a while, buy a dive computer, but always keep the watch. :eyebrow:
