Timeout on Marking All Threads Read

After fetching a page from SB and waiting some unknown period (best guess: somewhere between 10 and 60 minutes) all threads get marked as read. Is there any way of setting the length of this timeout period, or disabling it altogether? (I checked all Settings and Options screens, and searched old posts, without finding anything, but maybe I haven't been looking for the right keyword.)

using this old thread as I have a similar problem and this was the nearest the search function offered.

How can I get SB to show me all unread posts in the "what's new" button?
It seems to reset every time I log out / am logged out due to a timeout.
