So we don’t end up with thread titles that are looong like this. Been irking me for a while and I finally remembered to post.

No more than two lines on a laptop display. I like to scan down through the titles fairly often so I immediately recognize almost all of the threads. Long titles just add visual clutter and are unnecessary as one can mouseover the title and read quite a bit of the text. 100 characters per thread title max.

Most short titles are informative enough that I both get the gist and recognize the thread.
 
I wish more people would create longer titles, ones that actually say what the thread is about without opening it. Many give no clue.
And some posts don't give a clue what the thread is about, either.
The key is not length, it is information density.
The offending post for this thread might well have been: "Used Atomic B3 vs New Deep6 Signature?"
