[h=1]If you have been reading up on getting certified....you may have found that you don't have access to knowing who the RIGHT INSTRUCTOR is....to guarantee you good instruction.

While you have read that there are good individual instructors in pretty much every training agency---there are many poor instructors in the biggest training agencies--and the "Standards" of many are pitiful--you could end up with a C-Card and skills that would not prepare you for survival in a swimming pool by yourself....( this would be from one of the poor instructor choices you might accidentally get, with no one to help you find the RIGHT Instructor.)

One alternative for the person that wants to get the best in dive instruction, and to end up much more highly trained and skilled than could be expected with PADI or NAUI or the other mass market agencies---is a GUE Rec 1 course......they are few and far between, but there are some starting up in Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale Florida very soon.

The GUE instructor is Errol Kalayci, and there is no passing this course unless you actually master each skill...unlike PADI where actual mastery is practically irrelevant. This is to dive instruction, what SEAL Training is to the Cub Scouts ( main stream agencies).

You must be smart, well coordinated, a good swimmer, learn well, and you must want to gain a much higher level of instruction and skill mastery than the "average diver" wants to achieve. This is not for someone that only wants to be "average" when they become a diver.

Next class is starting July 22nd.
