The new Alert Diver is out and well worth a read, not only for the fact there is a diver rescue article in it involving many of your fellow Power Scuba members. It's on page 54 (I think) in the paper magazine and is also found on-line here: Right People in the Right Places. There are some excellent lessons to be gleaned from this incident. Please have a look.
Do we have no-profit events for our members? Yes, we have Shore dives (here and here), Leopard Shark dives, Fish ID classes, photography lectures, dives in San Diego Bay under such historical sites as the carrier USS Midway, Star of India, and Tuna Harbor.
What, that's not enough? How about a Catalina diving adventure (Oct 31) whose price for the whole weekend is cheaper than most Avalon hotel single night costs? Catalina Island Diving Weekend... It's Going Off!
How about Scripps Canyon dives (and cleanups), oil rigs trips, San Clemente trips, happy hours, dinners, new member meet & greets, and gear buys? All coming up! Many posted soon!
Finally, the San Diego A-List will start releasing category winners starting this Tuesday. They'll trickle results out in the next few days after that. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
