I have an Oceanic DX3 with Oceanic Alpha 1 primary and octo that I've been thinking about replacing. I already knew that the units are older, and that parts are in short supply for them. I have service kits for the regulator itself, but nothing for the primary or octo.

I reached out to Oceanic for help identifying the components and their response included that the primary/octo aren't serviceable and that they wouldn't dive them. That's got me thinking more strongly about replacing.

1) I like the system I've got - a lot.
2) I'm basically a warm water vacation diver, (Honduras/Florida)
3) Mostly Nitrox, but nothing over 36%, (so the 40% ceiling on units isn't a factor).
4) I need (2) HP ports - SPG and Sending Unit
5) I need (3) LP ports - inflator, primary and octo
6) I'd kind of like to get the same unit, only newer - see 1.

In line with that, I've been looking at
1) Oceanic Delta 5 edx
2) Oceanic Alpha 8 + SP5
3) Oceanic Alpha 10 DCX

So, I started looking online at reviews - and it's just overwhelming. There are a zillion plus five options and I'm lost. And that's only with Oceanic. So, I'm looking for suggestions/recommendations/opinions - and this seems like the right place to ask for that.

Thanks.

Look at Deep Six regulators.

I know not much about them....but I'm shopping too and they look good, albeit not the cheapest descent regulators out there. I'm considering them.

Why Oceanic?

I'd HIGHLY recommend Deep 6. I've recently purchased a full Deep 6 Expedition 'Signature' series set and I really, really like it.

Dive Rite is also very good. I have an XT1/XT4 set. But I do prefer the Deep 6.

Since you are a warm water diver, look at the scubapro MK11 and C370. I have one and love how easy it breathes. Parts and service are available pretty much everywhere. Service is every other year or 100 dives.
