Please enlighten me, oh Scubaboardians. We'll be headed to Koror for a week at the end of December and I was just wondering what sites are best that time of year, what kinds of animals are around, or any additional dos or don'ts; diving related (mainly) of course. We're just back yesterday from Saipan and so it's time to start obsessing about the next trip. Feed me! We're all ready booked in for accomodation and diving.

I have not been there in December but have been 8 times in Feb and March....weather is usually a bit more reliable at that time of the year.

I believe scubarobin was there last December and should have a trip report posted. I know she saw many Mantas in the German channel and had great weather...I have to go up to Devil fish city to generally see Mantas!!

If you liked Sipadan (been there) you will be blown away with Palau! Blue Corner, Turtle cove, Ulong Channel, Big dropoff...are just some of the must do dive sites!

Thanks for that, Traveln

Next time you come to Saipan Diving let me know. What dive shop did you use? What did you think of our island? Where is your trip report.
As for Palau I have been there many times I feel there is no bad time of year to dive there.

I dove with and stayed at Kapalai and loved the place. I have also been to Layang Layang and Lankayan.....probably spent well over 20K going to Malaysia although I like the country and the land tours in Borneo I find the diving does not remotely compare to Indonesia or Micronesia....commerical fishing has taken its toll.

Regarding Palau I would not suggest going from mid June thru Sept...weather can be a bit dicey!
