Hi
I had an enjoyable few days diving out from Townsville and off Port Douglas on the Great Barrier Reef. I don't know either the shiny thing in the middle of the little anenomes on picture one, or the powder puff looking anenome? in the second picture. Any help would be appreciated.

Ooops, this should be in "name that Critter (thingie)" If anyone can shift the post it would be appreciated.

The first picture looks like bubble aglae, Valonia. While usually shiny dark green, I have seen older ones that get stuff growing on them.

The second picture is a stoney coral that I would generically call a plate coral. It's likely of the family Fungiidae.

Agree on the bubble algae
