I have another Thermo valve question. I need to know what the designation number s of the 'single piece safety assembly' correspond with which pressure ratings.

The numbers I have are:

#4000
#5300
#5250

I believe #4000=2400psi, #5300=3180psi, and the mislabeled one is the #5250 which also says 3180psi.

If anybody has a parts catalog it could help.

The 5250 is the standard disc for all 3500 psi cylinders or cylinders with a service pressure of 3180 with a 10% overfill (3498), IIRC. The burst disc rating is actually the hydro test pressure for the cylinder (in most cases), which is 5/3 of the service pressure. The 3180 (+) rating is confusing. You could use the same disc as the 3500 psi, but Thermo may have made a specific disc just for the 3180 (+) service rating.

Thanks for the reply.

Richard Harder at Thermo send me this. I'll post it in case anybody else ever has a similar question:

The 5250 psi safety assembly is used for the following:

3180 psi Faber Cylinders
3500 psi PST Cylinders
3442 psi PST Cylinders

Hope this helps.
