You should have left it as 300 bar cause that pertains to the threads - not the working pressure.

Valves are typically Yoke, 200 bar convertible (5 threads for DIN with an insert for yoke), or 300 bar (DIN only).

Further, you probably want to mention that the threads are probably 7/8 UNF-14 which means the valve is for those with a working pressure of 3500 psi only - NOT modern HP cylinders with a working pressure 3442 psi which take 3/4 NPS-14 valves which are more common.

i'm so confused >_< someone in the know, please tell me, is this the thermo VA300 or not. it has "nine threads" apparently, an aqualung/usdivers decal, and 7/8 UNF-14 threads. is this compatible with aluminum cylinders??

The valve will only fit HP 3500psi steel tanks such as the ones manufactured by PSI and marketed by Sherwood/US divers from the late 80's till around 2000. It will NOT work with aluminum or newer style 3442psi tanks and will NOT accept the convertible adapter plug that allows use of a yoke regulator. The valve is commonly referred to as a 300bar DIN valve.
