Yes, the delicate balance between education and experience (none of which I have much of, yet). I do think it is important for some of us newbies to "chime in," not necessarily because we know anything, but because we are experiencing the same thing that other newbies are experiencing. I like it that I can commiserate with other newbies and still get an experienced perspective from several of you wonderful guys that are on this thread that have responded in the past to my many questions (thanks!). The big lesson I've learned this year is to relax and enjoy. I didn't have that when I started. FYI - Starfish are great, but my favorite is the goatfish. He/she is always working hard churning up the sand and smiling at the same time. They make me laugh, which is a really strange thing to do with my regulator in.

Greetings SB faithful! Awesome thread that really points out what diving is about!
Our world is in enough of a hurry, that is why I got into Scuba! Just to slow down and take in the underwater world one breath at a time!
Lynne and Rick you two always come up with incredible words and wisdom! I have come to appreciate your contributions here on SB. I anticipate more and as always love your sense of humor to.
Diving has been many things to me personally, solace, excitement, challenge, but lately it is evolving into a deeper sense of who I am at the core. I have been diving about three years and can say it is still consuming me. Like mentioned I have not ever become bored as I have followed a natural progression of training. It has taken me longer to master some skills than others but it was worth the training and hard work ten fold! Its has developed in me a self confidence I have never known in any other arena of life! I love the fact that it was not easy for me but I had to wrestle and trudge through some struggles. Those are the things that make diving so special for me!
I can dive in a mud puddle, "if it is deep enough" and love it! All the conditions that freaked me out at first have become cool! It is about blowing bubbles and it is in my blood, literally Ha Ha! Sorry shameless nitrogen joke!
For those who are just beginning, the world awaits! Master your skills, train hard, and love the water! You will find the return in enjoyment and unbelievable moments to be life changing! Dive as much as possible and often as you can!
Good luck and always dive with in your training level and safe!
CamG Keep diving....keep training....keep learning!
