We've just had a wonderful week of seeing whale sharks every day on the north and northwest side of Utila. It was so fitting as we saw the first one on August 31st "International Whale Shark Day" and continued to see them each day for the rest of the week. And to top it off, we also saw a large pod of pilots whales mid week.
There are a couple of videos on page www.facebook.com/utilabeach

They have a whale shark research facility there, but recent word has been no whale sharks seen locally for a long time. Glad they're back!

We also saw a few earlier this year but sightings have definitely been few and far between for the last 4-5 years
