There is an internal tab/flange with a hook on the back at top. No issues.

I think they just have it raised up all the way, because they didn't want any problems, like heat build up. Most likely it's because the mold was also used by the older 450 and Nikon which may of had to have the flash fully raised. Dude, we're talking about the top 3/4" of a triangle... ;-)

Man, I think for that $3K you are getting an incredible setup. Great, fast DSLR, quality lens, 1080p HD video, and S&S high quality housing. The thing is that the lenses, strobes and NX ports will follow you along where ever you go.

I would think seriously about the Sea and Sea. Great design (but the handles are expensive). Available small dome so close focus wide angle with the 10-17. Optical and electrical sync capability getting you TTL with optically fired strobes without a converter. Ergonomic and the ports will grow with you if you move to one of the bigger cameras/housings. The camera takes very nice pics with good IQ. At the end of the day, the plastic/Al debate should not be important.

Thanks, excellent points, in my case, I would either use and modify my existing Ikelite tray(s) or build my own, some things I simply cannot pay 400 dollars for a tray.

You are right, the plastic housing vs aluminum housing may not be so important.

These fit the Sea & Sea RDX and Olympus E Series Housings quite well.
