Has anyone stayed at The Tides Beach Resort on AC?? If you did, what did you think of the hotel. If you went diving with them I would appreciate your thoughts on their operation.

Thanks!

Stayed with them three years ago for four days. Was a nice hotel nice patio/bar friendly. Nothing special, but comfortable good size room and all rooms face the ocean.

Diving much the same. If the hotel is still owned by the same couple she runs the hotel, he runs the dive operation. Was impressed by his teaching, the diving was good, but again nothing that you won't get from pretty much any of the operators on AC.

I would stay/dive with them again if I were to go back. Did not see anything that looked significantly better. One of the operators on AC posts here regularly, would try his operation if I were to go again.

Both Peter Jones of "Protech" and Steve Lee of "Ecologic" post here pretty consistantly. Been Diving with Protech and loved it. I'm sure both would treat you well. Ken :42:

You'll find "The Tides" closer to Ecologic than to us, so if you want to walk there that's an issue. Otherwise we will both pick you up by boat, as will any other dive operator.

I stayed there August '06 and Patojo's Scuba Center (Tides) were our dive op as well.

The hotel room was just a basic room, nothing fancy. There is a small fridge in the room, no kitchen. Breakfast was included & was good. Was a little tough to find a place for lunch, we ended up buying sandwich fixings at the maket. Found a few favorite restaurants for dinner, but they were a good walk. There is a little bar at the hotel, which is nice. Hotel is across the street from the beach. Their dive shop is on the pier & there is a swimming area at the end of the pier & about 5 - 6 hammocks. Hotel has a small pool. Patojo was there at the dive shop, but he never went out on any dives. Dive op was OK, but wished we'd dove with Ecologic.
I spent months doing research on this trip. When it was all said & done I wished we'd stayed somewhere else & had dove with Ecologic.
Here's 2 links to my last two entries of my trip report. It is mostly about the dives we did. If you have any other questions about The Tides, please feel free to PM me.
