In a perfect world, where everyone agrees, what do you think the seven greatest virtues would/should be for every scuba diver?

Preferably try to sum up the virtue by using only a single word - it's a lot harder to capture the essence in that single word but it often has a stronger impact. :coffee:

Composure

Awareness

Engaging

Fitness

Wanderlust

Appreciation

Gratitude

If I had to sum it up in one word, I'd say:
RESPECT

Patience. Rushing yourself or others leads to errors.

Prudence.

Responsibility -- to yourself, to your team, to your loved ones.

Curiosity -- The better educated the diver, the better the diver.

Joyousness. We do this for fun. We should enjoy it, and others should enjoy doing it with us.

Respect -- for the sea and the things that live in it.

Humility. There is always something more to learn, or another lesson the sea plans to teach you.

Mine would be:
1. Prudence
2. Humility
3. Respect
4. Communication
5. Reliability
6. Excellence
7. Green (as in eco-friendly)

I'd have to add an 8th: Patience :coffee:

Respect -- Respect for dive buddies, instructors, and for the sea we dive in
Calmness -- Doesn't freak out -- just stops, thinks, and solves the problem
Humility -- Able to learn from anyone, even a new diver
Maturity -- Isn't interested in doing stupid things for bragging rights
Sense of Humor -- Who wants to dive with a boring, square buddy?
Intelligence -- Able to grasp new concepts quickly and apply them
Richness -- yep as in money. Gotta be rich for this damn sport...
