Hello everyone! This is my very first post so please let me know if I do everything correctly here haha.
I am currently on a sabbatical with my girlfriend and we are traveling the americas. Before switching continent from South America to Canada for summer we want to stop for a week somewhere we can dive. We are both SSI OWD certified, around 25 dives, apparently we have a good buoyancy since many divemasters have told us so. Interested in doing the AOWD too if its not too expensive (we already have the deep dive from Malapascua!)
We were looking into either Panama, Santa Catalina for Coiba Island diving. Or Mexico, Baja California. We are obviously interested in pelagic, schools of fish, but also nice corals (I figured we can't have everything in every destination, so that's completely fine - here we think more of pelagic).
Have any of you been in both places? Thoughts on both places regarding the season? We are also interested in just relaxing, maybe surfing, and enjoying everything else about a place. But we'd choose our stopover based on the diving conditions this time
