After the excitement of Merry's big find yesterday we returned to Golf Ball Reef to search for the Thordisa bimaculata Jim Lyle found last week. I haven't seen one in ten years so I kept my eyes peeled for anything yellow. It seems that most animals at GBR are yellow so I had to look everywhere.
Two minutes into my search I found a large Peltodoris mullineri which brought our nudibranch total for this reef up to thirty-two. I spent most of the dive trying to get a decent shot but the strong surge kept rolling the nudi around.
Merry came over to try her luck so I ventured west. I found a nearly four foot horn shark next to the rock we last saw Merry's Thordisa rubescens. I watched him for a few minutes while he kept an eye on me as well.
Visibility was down quite a bit from yesterday and the temperature had dropped to 51°. We decided not to push our luck and headed back home after one dive.
