No rainy season this winter on Bonaire? Ow!
When we were there last Feb (09) it rained some almost every day. That was my only visit to Bonaire outside of June or July, so I thought that it probably rained quite a bit during Jan, Feb.

... My little brother spent a lot of his honeymoon on Coz under a doctor's care because he ate a stupid salad at a restaurant! :shakehead:
That's interesting... Cozumel has had laws in place for more than two decades that all restaurants must serve filtered water, ice and use filtered water for all food prep and cleaning...

Jim, I am not disputing your claim but could there have been another reason like salmonella?

The water on Bonaire is purified from the seawater using a reverse osmosis process (the same process used by the astronauts).

Pretty high tech, especially if it is producing Tang.

Dale's experience was a bit over 2 decades ago now, so maybe he was part of the reason they added those regulations.(?) He came home one sick puppy, and the doc on Coz told him that it was probably because the salad stuff was rinsed in tap water. He had been so careful to drink only bottled water and beer, but never stopped to consider salad fixins as a potential hazard.
When I was on Coz, I was even more careful, because of his experiences. It took me decades to completely recover from similar experiences in Italy in the 70's, so I tend to get my water in my beer and soda on most of my travels, unless, like Bonaire I am really sure of the source.

Jesus you're an old fart! Was there even running water when you started travelling? :D

There are some mornings I do feel like the old fart. As the saying goes: "If I knew I was going to live this long, I'd a taken better care of this body!"
A close friend of mine told me once..

"If their hair is longer than mine, they must be a hippie. If they drink more than me they must be an alcoholic. If they dance better than me they must be gay. If they have sex more than me... well, good for them!" :cool2:

Old club member I knew used to have a sign in his nightclub, said something to the effect: "When I arrive in hell, it won't be with my tail between my legs, but sliding my Harley in sideways, with a babe on the back, screaming 'WAHOO!! WHAT A RIDE!' !"

Glad to hear you got rain Liz. I was on Bonaire in Oct. '09 and there was a lot of rain in a few downpours. Our friend on the Houston redeye said it was coming down in sheets when they landed though it was sunny when our Delta afternoon flight got in. The Friday before we left it dumped in the afternoon. I had no idea you were dry since then. Hopefully you had great visibility at least all winter.
