agreed! hammers are notoriously skittish. i originally got into rebreathers for diving places like cocos.
 
I had a very similar experience as well Lemon whilst on a trip to the Galapagos Islands. Here's a link to a video my friend Jorge from 'Galapagos Rebreathers' put together that is a mix up of amateur footage taken by open circuit divers on the trip and myself on a rebreather open circuit v closed circuit. At times the Hammerheads came so close and circled me I would hypothesize they could sense the electronics.
