Lol, yeah sorry no thanks.

A lot of that stuff does not need to be carried on in most cases, in my opinion. Is it a good idea to carry on your computer/regs/mask if you can so you're better off if a checked bag is lost? Sure, of course. But you don't have to, especially if travelling with a bunch of additional or non-recreational gear like this. Just check bags... Trying to go all-carry-on with a bunch of tech/cave or photography gear, or really anything but the very lightest and most compact recreational setup imaginable, is utter insanity. Not to mention being unfair to flight crews and other passengers. Overseas they tend to care a lot more about carry on size/weight than in the US as well; I've never had an issue domestically (though I mostly fly Alaska FWIW). If the goal is just to save a few bucks checking a bag this seems like waaaaay to much stress in exchange.

But hey, if you wanna roll onto the plane looking like Data from Goonies, you do you. :)

So the title of this tread should really be.... "How to Cheat the Airlines Carry-on Rules" instead of "How to Meet the Airlines Carry On Rules" . You could also just go to Amazon and buy a fake Santa Belly and A Fake Big Butt and cram all kinds of stuff in there....

I can say with confidence that if I try to board a plane with my plate carrier crammed with hoses, first stages, SPG's, computer, etc..... that it's probably gonna cause more problems than I'm trying to solve.

But in reality, and admittedly, if I am a few lbs overweight on my carry-on then I just put some heavy items in my cargo shorts as they can hold a lot of stuff.
