50!!! Man, I am getting old. The good thing is I decided to start diving again as a present to myself. Thursday (7/20) is my birthday and I am headed to my LDS to get some new gear. My PADI certification was in 1984 so I took the course again, this time SSI. The classes were fun and the diving was even better. Now I am PADI and SSI certified. My only regret is the time missed diving. Guess I will have to try to make up for that. Maybe the Keys would be a good place to go for some shallow, good vis diving to ease back into the swing of things. Any other suggestions? Thanks

Mike

50! Welcome to adulthood (tomorrow)<G>.

Ahhh, 50 is just when it gets good. Kids are grown, house is pretty much paid for, retired and able to go where I want when I want.

Maybe for you, we had a late life suprise who's now 10. Keeps us young.

Happy Birthday and welcome back!

The Bahamas. Shallow water, tons of coral, fish, sharks. My wife and I were there (Eleuthera) two years ago and I finally found a place to get down to 30 ft. But my bottom times were around 90 minutes on an 80cf tank! Water was around 85 degrees and I dove in my swim suit the whole time. Did some spear fishing and we ate what I speared. It was awesome.

I still have a few months to go, but this is without a doubt the best time of my life! Diving with my son (who can go out for a beer on the SI with me :) ), got the toys that I always wanted, not as worried about the little things anymore, and the dating at this age is so much more relaxed....

Welcome back to diving, enjoy it and everything else!
