First, to Dee and Beast for designing, building, and bringing The Bench by ‘Beast’ to CSSP, THANKS! I followed the discussion thread but did not make the event. No matter, you left a solid memory for many others to enjoy.

Just so you know, 4 more Swampers took a liking to and pleasure in using your gift. DalTecDiver, FWNurseShark, Catch-22, and I completed 3 dives today. Believe me; we used the heck out of that bench. Catch said Deb will build a TSDT placard to place on the bench to let everyone know who was here. Sooo, when ya’ll coming back with the next batch? There’s plenty of wide open space around here, could use a few more just like um...I think a dozen will do to start... :)

As for the diving, we had vis up to 20+ in places and as low as; where is my nose? The fish are being frisky in places and stirring the silt up. The water is bathwater warm, and full of algae, so stay close to the grass, along walls, or down the spine and you’ll see plenty of fish.

Oh, I dove naked and was fine down to 26 ft.

:) Jim

We're glad it's getting lots of use. Maybe Robert will get the hint and find a diving welder to make some more!

We had such a great time we're planning to come back, hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks. I sure wish we'd gone up their earlier this spring. Alot depends on Beasts work schedule and we may not be able to give anyone more than an overnight notice but we will be back.

And you just never know what ol' Beast may have in the back of that pick 'em up truck!

The BEAST bench is awesome. The Grapevine Scuba group enjoyed it all weekend. Robert has it placed at the Northern most dock. I had a chance to talk to Robert. He is very appreciative and wants the plans. He indicated that he would like to make more. Now he did say that a few other projects were in front of the BEAST. Saturday he had a large load of rock delivered. He is extending two walks into the South shallow and extending with docks. He is finishing up preparing the airplane fusalage for sinking.
It may be next year, but I say that multiple BEASTS are in CSSP's future.
Our thanks to "the" Beast for getting a great deal started.

Muchas Gracias for the bench. I could tell the difference in my back after using it to put on and take off gear. Now if I could just adapt one to the back of my Yukon, I would be in heaven.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to put the bench together.

:D

Hmmm....now there might be an idea here...

Do you have a receiver hitch setup on your Yukon? I'm thinking a bench setup that would slide into the receiver hitch sorta like the igloo cooler carrier trays I've seen.

Take the same carrier design, but put in a vertical member to bring the horizontal to the right height. Perhaps even sliding up and down for different height divers, locked with a pin like a jack stand.

Dee, run that by Beast and see what he thinks.

To Dee, even though I have never met you and have no idea who you are, I want to say thank you for donating the bench (beast). The students at Grapevine Scuba very much enjoyed using it.

You're more than welcome! I hope everyone gets lots of use from it and may it multiply!

Go forth and multiply.

Hint, hint to local craftsmen. :D
