A short trip to Oahu led to some great diving with Alex and the crew of the Elysium.
Two wonderfully calm days of high visibility, with great diving on the Sea Tiger and San Pedro, left me wanting more.
In the hold of the San Pedro, we found a sleeping turtle, and two circling white tip reef sharks. I've never been so close to them before, and found the shark's way of moving through the water hypnotic.
Alex appeared comfortable with divers from all skill levels, and kept us all entertained with a steady stream of salty anecdotes. Humor aside, I especially appreciated his genuine concern for the safety of his customers. Sunday's 3 tank trip had to be cancelled due to weather and surf, and while disappointing, I respect the fact that Alex made the call with our interests at heart.
I'll definitely book with them again.
