So, Subsurface is a free (open source) dive planner and dive log. If I remember correctly it was coded, in part, by Linus Torvald, creator of the Linux kernel.
Anyway, it has great features as a dive log and as a dive planner so I encourage you to check it out. Again, this is free software, so don't think that I'm getting paid to write this thread or something. In fact, that's not even what the thread is about.
I was sitting here wondering how much time I've spent underwater, and then it occurred to me that this great piece of software, programmed and maintained by divers, may have a feature to total it up. And sure enough, it does.
Looking at my yearly stats, I've spent over 3 full days underwater at this point. Unfortunately, I didn't start using my Shearwater Petrel until after I had been a diver for a while, so I'm missing about a third of my dives. But I guess I just wanted to post here and say thanks to the guy(s) who code(s) Subsurface for making such a useful dive planner and log.
