A huge "THANKS!!" to Bob "Grateful Diver" Bailey for his help today. Having just moved to the PNW from New Jersey almost 3 months ago, Bob introduced me to Puget Sound diving at Cove 2.

I summarized the experience HERE.

Hope you enjoy it, and looking forward to meeting you all.

You could not have had a better escort! And welcome to PNW diving!

It was my pleasure, coach. We'll hope for better vis next time ... that second dive was about as bad as it gets here ... still a fun dive, though ... :D

Yes, we have definitely hit the June algae bloom -- I haven't canceled a dive for poor viz in a long time, but we scrubbed one at Edmonds last Thursday, and I read that it was equally bad or worse yesterday. Coach Izzy, it DOES get better!

Thanks very much Lynn. I have to say that you are absolutely right, but more than an escort, he was a coach. I learned quite a bit yesterday and I'm looking forward to keep honing my skills in my new home. I hope we get to meet soon. Take care!

With the conditions yesterday, I can definitely see (no pun intended) how team work makes what would be a significant task for a solo diver, more manageable. I'll conclude by saying the same thing I said after my first New Jersey dive in the middle of 6 foot waves that made me toss my cookies "If that's as bad as it gets, I think I can handle it". Happy and Safe diving and see you soon!

Bob gave me the whole foundation for the diver I've managed to become. His combination of knowledge, communication and patience is a real jewel.

I'd love to join the fray and show you some more of our more inspiring local sites, as soon as we can see them! You have several very nice one right off Bainbridge, although they're best accessed by boat or scooter. But we have a boat :)

... But we have a boat :)

Now you ARE tempting me! Funny think about Bainbridge Island is that I found people involved in all sorts of activities except Scuba Diving. I hear about nice dive sites, but I have not really found anyone who dives the area. If you ever want to bring your boat over to BBI, I'm willing to split the cost of fuel with you.

I see that you love horses. Do you know anybody in the Kingston area? Just curious. We know a whole bunch of riders from there. They are as addicted to their horses as we are to the water.

Would love to dive with you soon.

Take care.
