There are some 30+ wrecks <100 fsw & < 10 Mi from shore, from freeport to Padre. after searching the internet I have found little information from people that have been to them.

Are they in clear water or the soup that we have near shore?

are there guided trips?

After I get wreck certified anyone want to go see them next summer?

Who is doing penetration cert here in Houston?

I have a 30 catamaran that could be used to dive from but a little primative and somewhat slow. might need to charter a boat ( I am a charter captain)

That's because nobody can see them. There are a few times of year - mostly September/October - when blue water comes in close enough that you might get 10' or more viz on these near-shore wrecks but most of the time it'll be brown water with little or no viz.

Labor Day weekend I dived the VA Fogg which is 30 miles out and we had 60' viz but it's usually just 10' to 15'.

Depending on the time of year depends on the visability. The Texas Clipper off South Padre had over 100 foot vis in July and early September. With the hurricanes and tropical storms hitting the Texas coast this summer, it is a little tough finding decent vis on any wreck off Texas right now. You can look at > Dive Trips for a list of wrecks off of South Padre. I think there are at least four wrecks. You may also find some more info on wreck diving on DecoStop.com
