Go with strobes... At least you can use them for when you have out-grown your compact and want to move on to DSLR....

Agreed... strobes, arms, clamps, etc will be with you long after the g15 has been replaced.
 
strobes. the answer will always be strobes.

you can shoot sTTL or Auto on the Inons, but I personally shoot sTTL with a fiber optic cable.

I have the canon housing for my G11, and it's never leaked, even down to 175, it just wont "work" past 130 because the pressure causes the buttons to sink in. I can do a LOT of photography shallower than 100ft with two Inon strobes :D.
 
moot point now since I just dumped my camera fund into the IDC :wink:...thank you all for the input, tho.
 
I'm doing the IDC right now too. IE is next month... fun fun :)
