In South Florida off of Ft. Lauderdale, me and a buddy spotted a single tentacle creature in about 15 fsw. The approx. 1-2ft. long arm was sort of a purplish blend(no not an octopus arm for sure) with some small pencil eraser sized knobs spread out about every 4 or 5 inches. The arm was about 3-5 inches in diameter and when approached kind of retracted itself under a ledge(we couldn't see the body) like a turtle head.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a tiger tail sea cucumber. I love these things.

Can you post a picture or link(s), please? Am curious to see what this thing looks like.

Thanks!

Thank You! That is exactly what it looked like. Kindp spooked me at first when we saw it. Reminded me of something out of one of those cheap horror movies. Thanks for the ID!
