A 42-year-old man died while scuba diving off the southern coast of Tenerife yesterday, Saturday 7th December 2024. The incident occurred around 12:32pm when emergency services received a report that a diver had been pulled from the sea in cardiac arrest near the municipality of Arona.

Medical personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) were dispatched and arrived promptly, administering both basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques.

Unfortunately, despite their efforts, they were unable to revive him, and his death was confirmed at the scene.

The Local Police have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, and the identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

This tragic incident highlights the importance of adhering to safety protocols and being vigilant about conditions when engaging in underwater activities. Divers are reminded to undergo regular medical check-ups and ensure they are physically fit before participating in such activities.
