I have to agree with what others have already said; it is stupid and could endanger other future divers in the area.

I also will point out that even though divers may not have seen tigers or bulls in the area, that does not mean the tigers and bulls have not seen them!

As an advocate for the protection of sharks, I am slowly questioning the feeding of them. I was supposed to have been on my first feed dive this past Sat. but they are no longer doing that in Freeport. I did have 8 dives over 2 days and had the pleasure of seeing blacktips and nurse sharks up close for 6 of them. I did not need to seduce them with food, and it was more pleasurable to just watch their natural behavior. I do not think I need a feeding frenzy to entertain me. The best part of the dive was when a nurse shark came to me and just rested within a foot of me. Thank goodness I had found my bouyancy because I was afraid I would frighten her away. She stayed with me for at least 5 minutes before moving on. It was an incredible moment, for me. As she moved away, I lightly touched her below the dorsal down to her tail as she glided away. I swam beside the blacktips but did not harrass them. I prefer to be a part of their world and be respectful to their nature. Sharks get such a bad rap and yes if a diver would have been hurt...that would have been the biggest headline on CNN. They deserve our respect, they deserve our protection, and they are not the "monsters" that the press makes them out to be!

HAPPY DIVING Y'ALL! http://elasmodiver.com/Protecting%20Sharks.htm

Someone's going to lose an arm (or worse.) See the moray eel thread for enlightenment.

I can't imagine these guys would run a tourist outfit hand-feeding lions, tigers or crocodiles, so what makes them think they can handle wild sharks in an alien environment is beyond me.

Another classic case of common sense clouded by money. :shakehead
