I saw my first blue ringed octopus on the weekend which was very exciting. It was in about 6m of water under a jetty. Here's a pic of it...

Mel :)

Oh! Lucky you! I just spent a week and a half at Wakatobi in Indonesia and was told there is a blue ringed octopus under their jetty, and also a couple in the 'second gully' of the house reef. Unfortunately, the few times I was able to get out on the house reef the tide was wrong (causing strong currents) and I couldn't linger for a look. So that's one thing I'm still hoping to see one day.

My most recent first: pygmy seahorses; on one Wakatobi dive I saw three types. Here's one image I captured of a pair of hippocampus bargibanti.

My first experience on a Live Aboard trip was fantastic.

I think diving on a trip like that is the ultimate diving experience, especially when there are many different dive sites to visit.

It was for 4 nights and 3 days, on a fairly Big Catamaran.

It was my first time to sleep on a boat, and my first time to dive 3 dives in one day, for 3 consecutive days!!!

During the trip, I also did my first Deep dive ( more than 18 metres ).

I have some pictures of my
Scuba Diving trip at Moreton Bay Marine Park, Queensland, Australia.

Anyone else just been on their first live aboard?

..

Although this is not in keeping with the content of most of the previous posts in this thread, it does fit the topic:

My most recent "first" (and hopefully "last") occurred last August: getting bent, and taking a Chamber ride-6 of them actually!

take care,

Mike
