Hello,

I found this teeth at a beach on the great ocean road in Australia.

Has anyone a idea of which species it could be?

Thanks
Jan

Thanks for your reply. The Australian 2 Dollar coin is 20.5mm in diameter.

When I checked pics of Sand Tiger Sharks they all seem to have small "tips" next to the teeth ( sorry, I dont know how to describe it better in english).

Thanks for the web resources.

Yes, that is a characteristic of the sand tiger teeth, but I'm not sure it is always there. The tooth is too big for a sand bar shark, but the right shape, I think.

What is the shape from the side? I have a number of sand tiger teeth and from the side they all curve.

Perhaps the "tips" had been worn off by the sand.
