Teens and Diving

Hi everyone,

My son (soon to be 14) recently got his OW certification. We did his first post-certification dives last weekend in which he did a great job!!! The kid has gills. He did two dives, almost an hour each on an AL 80.

I want to keep up his enthusiasm for diving and would like him to meet other divers his age, and possibly find buddy groups (parent/child) since he only has his junior certification currently.

If interested in diving with us, or even starting a Parent/child dive group, please PM me.

We are schedule to go on the Encore to San Nicholas Island March 12th. Anyone else going?

I read somewhere that diving causes problems with bone growth/deformation in divers, how does this affect kids??? Pretty interesting article here too, be safe.........

If you come up to dive Monterey, give a shout...I'll try to get my now 16 yr old to dive...He was certified as a 13 yr old, but only goes a few times a year now that he drives...LOL

This just shows to what depth you will go to get a dive buddy.

Your poor son won't have any free time whatsoever with mom dragging him to depths.
