When i make the jump... i was wondering if any body use the sherwoods or should i make an expensive up grade with i start my tech class.

Thanks,

Great lakes diving...Nothing is better...

You do realize you'll need a minimum of three regs, right? If nothing else, you can use your Blizzard for a Deco/Stage reg and get a matched set of whatever you want for your back gas.

I can not directly address your question about your Sherwood,,,BUT you will cover in detail eqpt.//or you should!..... in your beginning tech programs and you will continue learning throught and after formal instruction. I bet you will get some input on the Sherwood model you have...best wishes!!!

That constant bleed of Sherwoods always makes me think someone has a leak.

My tech instructor uses sherwood first stages. The constant bleed made me think the same thing as perrone, but when I let him know about it he said it was supposed to do that to keep the piston balanced in the first stage.

I mean you do bubble check, and you know the thing ALWAYS leaks. Man, just get some regs that don't leak! :)

I do realize that you need at least three regs. I am trying to say i like my sherwood and would like to use it as my primary's but dont know if it will cut it in the tech enviroment. Have any of you used sherwoods for long hangs and deeper than 150'..

You like it, you own it, dive it. And yes, I've seen some people take sherwoods deep. Woudln't be *MY* choice, but works for them, and will probably work fine for you.

I thought a "tech" regulator had to be able to be disassembled underwater? I am with the Sherwood guy, what makes a regulator tech or not tech exactly?

That said, you may love your Sherwood like I loved my Chevy Vega until I drove a Datsun 240Z. Haven't owned a GM products since.

Keep the Sherwood, it ill make a great back up. Nothing like traveling a thousand miles to dive and your super duper plastic bubble makers goes -kapow-- when the air goes on---just say, "I got it it covered," reach in your bag and pull out the old Sherwood with the built in leak and make your dive. Never hurts to bring along extras. N
