I heard you were a slow learner :)
Baby step dude....baby steps

I'd rather master the skills slowly than be shoved thru the class. I know of a few people who were turned off to tech diving by their instructor, too much in a short time, deadlines and impatience. Good people and good divers too.

Please forgive me if this is the wrong area for this question. I am interested in taking some tech classes/diving and a local LDS is offering Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures via TDI. I inquired about these classes and was told they are $300.00 each or $550.00 combined. Not complaining about the cost but I was told these were classroom only no dives. Now, I guess I could buy the Advanced Nitrox being classroom only ( although it seems there should be dives with it) but how the heck do you teach Decompression Precedures without any dives? Any other TDI people out there able to tell me if this is standard?
It was not standard for the classes I took and those I helped out with. My instructor required 8 dives. Plus extra dives if you screwed the pooch and needed some extra time.

IMHO there is no way these courses could be classroom ONLY - to the point that I suspect there may have been some miscommunication. If there was no miscommunication, then back away slowly from this dive shop, (then turn and run.) These classes are where you really need the time in the water to become familiarized with a wide variety of various skills and drills.

Regards,

Doc
