ooooh, Damn you andibk! j/k  I was soo tempted to go for the meg but just can't justify the price tag at the moment... plus I was unable to find a meg instructor other than one based in Singapore. Just for my future reference (I haven't pulled the trigger on a KISS I was going to buy yet...), where would you do your course in the PI? Puerto Galera? In fact, where will you be in the PI? There are lot of good tech instructors in the PI, but a meg instructor is hard to find...

About a year too early for me to be thinking of a Meg.

I will be traveling to the souther parts of P.I and once my business is taken care of there I may head up to Subic for a couple of days. Out of all of the Rebreathers I have used I would rate the MEG on the top of the list. Small, light weight, can disassemble to a very small package and can use different size tanks on it. For deeper dives I would again choose the MEG since you can get a radial scrubber and larger scrubbers for it. I teach the Inspiration. Evolution and also the KISS also and would probable rate them in that order with the MEG on top.

Well, I will be in Subic this weekend. Probably be diving with Johan's (www.divesubic.com) over in Barrio Barretto on Sat and Sun. Would love to do a technical wreck course but I won't have the time this trip.

BTW, where do you hold your courses in Thailand? pattaya or phuket?

Johans is one of my favorite places to visit. I am actually building a website to help promote his shop. I have been living here in Pattaya Thailand for the past 12 years. I have a shop with more then enough tec equipment. I can offer just about all ranges of tech courses including tec wreck, cave and rebreathers.

The prerequisites for the MEG course is that you have to have the Advanced nitrox course which is only a two day course and can actually be combined with the rebreather course. The cost of the MEG can vary depending on what kind of extras you get with it. I would guestimate between $7500 and $8500 U.S. There is a 3 month waiting list for the unit, but a well worth waite. We just had 2 MEG courses and a Evolution course all on the same boat. At the end of the Evolution course the student turned around and did the MEG course. I think $ for $ the MEG is the way to go, especially when they put the new electronics on it.
