I don't want to be an alarmist, but this is not good. Take a look at these photos of Dauphin Island taken today from one of my "contacts" on flickr:

The photographer is a biologist at the Dauphin Island Marine Lab. I fear the inevitable is finally happening. From my own selfish standpoint, Dauphin Island is not that far from Destin in Panhandle where I do so much snorkeling, and it appears to be headed that way. What was previously a Louisiana event, is now an Alabama event and may soon be a Florida event.

Anybody have something that might cheer me up?
