Jim, I agree with you 100%. The only problem is that in all likelihood scott964 was never taught the frog or modified frog. I watched the 5th D videos (? help me out here) and tried to emulate them, and failed. Later, taking a cavern course, I managed to somewhat "get it."

scott964 - if you can get someone to demo the modified frog kick for you and give you some pointers, you will find it an invaluable tool in diving, especially close to the bottom. The flutter kick is powerful and efficient at the surface and on descent, but the modified frog is great near the bottom.

I thought the frog kick was fairly easy. Go into a pool and just practice it without any equipment and do a couple of laps.

Watching the youtube videos helped me a lot, from several people. Back kick and the turns are something I think a class would help though.

Mattboy, you write "If the mouthpiece feels like it's getting pulled out of your mouth when you turn your head left, get a longer hose." actually it's exactly opposite. The reg feels as if it is being pulled out of my mouth from my right to the left when I turn my head right. Feels okay when turning left. The LP hose seems to be fine, it does not bind or feel as if it is too short.

I have a ScubaPro R190/G2 setup that I had planned to use for a pony bottle. Maybe I'll give it a try. Maybe this will eliminate a few things.

Maybe the hose is too long if it's pushing the reg out of your mouth to the left. You could try 2" shorter. But it's more a flexibility issue. This is one reason I'm a big fan of the 5ft primary hose/24" alternate on a bungie necklace. The 5 ft hose routs under your arm, across your chest, and behind your head. It has plenty of flexibility because of the added length so that it does not push/pull the reg, and it's more streamlined in the water.

Alternatively, you could try a miflex hose; those are more flexible and it's likely you won't feel the reg pushed around when you turn your head.

What's a R190/G2? If you mean G250, that's two 2nd stages. What's the 1st stage?

I agree with Scott L a propper fitting single tank wing would lock the tank to your back like it was part of you. And these days they are no more expensive than a BCD.

I dive a Frog Indigo and havnt looked back

Mk10's sure to be the problem, totally dangerous. Upgrade the 1st stage and send me the Mk10 :)

Edit: I can't imagine this actually solving your problem, but hey, worth a shot?
