a little aluminum welding and I have 4 on each side (if I need that many)

were fine tuning it from here

Very nice work. I have the same problem with the toe kick recess, and have been thinking of a similar solution.

Can you elaborate on the aluminum bracket and attachment?

Nice job! It looks like I could do something similar on my boat. Could you send me some more pics please. It looks like you have it bolted to your fishing rod holders is that correct? How is that holding up,Its not to much stress when running? Thanks Keith
 
No welding here either. I have a 5/8" plastic wall in front of each pocket along the stern. I drilled four holes for each channel and counter-sunk the bolts so the holders could slide by. It took less than fifteen minutes to install eight holders.
