Greetings all,
I've just finished getting certified PADI open water diver. I've already signed up for my AOW. A three day weekend in Gloucester, MA. AOW, combined with wreck dive specialty. Weather permitting. All this in preparation for a fall trip to Lake Tanganyika in Africa. There I will photograph fish and other various things from the lake for my website. I started keeping fish about two years ago and it's become somewhat of an obsession. At least now that I can jump in and see them first hand, I don't have to worry about setting up any salt water tanks. Check out the site at Amateur Cichlids .:blfish: Let me know what you think. I plan on putting in a lot of dive time this summer in preparations for the trip. I figure I should be past the point where I'm trying to get used to staying neutrally bouyant when I have Water Cobras and Crocodiles to worry about instead.:thinkof:

Welcome to the board...you'll find a bunch of helpful stuff here and will find yourself up at all hours of the night...like tonite...lol.
There are some great threads on photography and hope you have fun in Africa!!!

Wow, your trip sounds exciting!!! Aloha from Hawaii!

Hello Amateur and welcome aboard. You have a great website there. Enjoy your trip to Tanganyika.

Welcome, I am newly certified and still don't have a dive partner. SCUBA came as a natural extension as I progressed from keeping koi, to breeding koi, to keeping FW fish to breeding angels and kribensis to starting a nano-reef saltwater tank. Once I got the saltwater bug I knew I had to go into SCUBA. Rift valley lakes are way cool, so deep that even the fish need decompression stops. BTW, I am here in northern california, I am looking for an ab diving buddy and a SCUBA buddy. Justin699@hotmail.com here in Chico
