I'm going to be in the Tampa/St. Pete area in July and was wondering about diving. Is it worth it? I'm a new diver, so just getting into the water is cool for me still, but I don't want to spend the money if it's not worth it. Thanks for the help.

Yeah it's worth it. There are some really good wrecks out in the gulf.

I'm a new diver and spent a few days in St Pete last Feb. Met up with some great people down there. Hi to Capt. Ty , Johnny Bravo, and Scott5644.

We did the Sheridan and a small reef. Very active and welcoming dive community.

An hour and a half south of Tampa is Venice Beach, FL. You can shore dive, and find sharks teeth. Max depth is around 25', but visibilty is poor, 6"-10' depending on the day.
