The only ones I know about are the three in Bradenton. Regina/ sugar barge, Spanish Rocks, and the Third pier. All have been talked about here on several occasions so they are no secret. If you need directions or more info just let me know and I will give you the details. There is also Venice beach and Alhambra for shark tooth dives. They are all good to do at least once. The sugar barge is only a one time thing but the rest I could do more than that. I am thinking of setting up a meet and greet dive at the Spanish Rocks in mid August if you are interested. I haven't heard if anyone else wants to do it but if there is enough interest I will nail down a date and post it.

all I need is a firm date, but i'm generally up for a spanish rocks dive.

I'm up for any shore diving I can get. I've seen a couple of Tampa Bay area locations mentioned here and there in different threads, but was thinking it'd be nice to have a place to collect them all, as well as hopefully learn where some of the ones are we haven't discussed at all, yet.

Well...there is...but that's for all kinds of dive info for the entire state. I'm specifically looking for shore dives in the Tampa area. If it's that much trouble I'll close the thread and seek info. elsewhere. Thanks.

Don't close the thread. It's a good idea. I will start you off with the ones I know.

Spanish Rocks- They are off of Anna Maria island. Take SR 64 west to Gulf Dr. Go south on Gulf drive about a half of a mile. The road will curve to the left. At the start of that curve there is a beach access and sand parking lot on the right hand side. Pull in there. That is where you park. After you get parked and geared up go onto the beach and go south to the sixth house. The site is about 100 yards due west. The depth is about 22 ft. max. Viz is usually around 15 ft. I have seen quite a but of life on the rocks at times. I think it is hit or miss though. It is definately a dive worth doing.

Regina/Sugar Barge- Also on Anna Maria Island. From Spanish Rocks continue south on Gulf Dr. About 3 miles or so down on the left you will see Sea Trek Divers. The Sugar Barge is across the street from the dive shop. Park there and go over to the water. I believe you will want to head Southwest when you enter. If I'm not mistaken the actuall dive site is due west of the white condos but I could be wrond on that. Max depth is right at 20 ft. Vis is about the same as the Spanish Rocks. This is a one time dive. There isn't much left of the wreck so it is not overly exciting.

3rd Pier- Again in Anna Maria Island. Go about a mile south of Sea Trek Divers. You will come to the light at Cortez Rd. Go straight through the light and start counting the piers. At the third pier is where you park. I believe you go in on the north side of the pier. The ledge is about 75 yards out and there is another at about 125 yards out. That is all the info I have on that site. I have tried to dive it but I have never found the ledges. I only tried once but I know others here have found the ledges so they are there. I have also heard that there is a good amount of life on the lege.

All right Bro. that is all the shore dive I personally know about other than Venice shark tooth sites. If you want those just post and I will give you the rundown on them as well. Hope this is what you are looking for. I also think a shore dive thread is a great idea. We seem to do bunch of shore diving so any new info is good info.:D

Henry this thread was there before the big crash "Calling all Shore Divers"
The only thing the boards asks is when a trip becomes "firm" post it in trips and market place ... so all can join ...

I'm sorry if it sounded like I was trying to snub you, I guess I just misunderstood what you were wanting to do, and forgot that the shore diving thread dissapeared after the SB blackout. My apologies!
