So my ENT made a brief but strange comment the other day, suggesting that my height (I'm 6'4") puts me at higher risk for ear barotrauma. I asked him what my height had to do with anything, but he only mumbled something like "of course, the pressure difference..." and didn't want to or couldn't elaborate any further.

Has anyone ever heard of such a thing (I haven't) or could he just have been confused there?

and in his world, are short people more likely to get bent? Because you know, they can get closer to the bottom....:rofl3:

That's not the stupidest thing I've ever heard, but it's right up there

I can only guess that he was referring to a comparatively rapid change of depth if you went from prone to head up, but really... It's like saying you get a longer ride from sitting in the back of the bus

This really does not make sense at all, and there certainly is no published evidence to support such an assertion.
