To the OP: I wish others were as open minded as you! I realize that the course is expensive, and that a lot of people would rather spend the money on gear, but I also concur that the class is indeed worth it. However most people do not realize that they are not obligated to "go DIR" or "go goo" after taking it, and in most areas with a high concentration of divers, it shouldn't be difficult to find someone to lend them the gear for the course. In fact, I think most goo divers would jump at the chance to help someone out, even if that person wasn't making any commitments.
Anyways, congratulations on passing the course! I am glad you found it to be helpful.
